Find Your Voice Week One

It's two weeks into the Find Your Voice Workshops and I am loving them so far. I decided to use the workshops to focus on a little scrapbook that I've been wanting to properly start for months now. I take photos all the time for work related reasons, but I have gotten quite lazy with taking them of people or memories and recently Jake and I realised that we don't actually have many pictures of us together.

I bought a scrapbook a while ago with the intention of us working on it together.... of course that hasn't really happened, but the dream is still alive and Jake has at least pretended to be interested! I'm slightly aware of how soppy it is, but I know that if I don't document this time in our lives I will regret it later on... So throughout the eight week workshop I am planning to use the prompts to help me document our adventures into something fun to keep.

The craft prompt for week one was to create a project that represents you at the beginning of your storytelling journey. I decorated our scrapbook with some geometric paper, washi tape and a picture of our names in fridge magnets that we took on holiday. I always find that as soon as I decorate a book I am more likely to work in it. I always used to decorate my school books in the same way... Some may say a waste of time, I say it's necessary.

I have had a busy week this week, so still trucking through week two's task, but expect a post on that in the next couple of days...

If you would like to join in the Find Your Voice workshops, hop over to Rukristin Papercrafts and join. It's completely free of charge and you can opt to have the lessons sent to your email address or just download them online, see this link or the facebook group for more information. I'm looking forward to getting more involved with the steadily growing community and to see what everyone else comes up with during the course!

Who else is joining in? Leave your links in the comments I'd love to see your posts :)
