Home Trends: Concrete

1//2//3//4//5//6//7//8

The industrial trend is not getting old for me. I love concrete mixed with pretty colours and accessories. I love it! I have a steadily growing pile of DIYs on my Pinterest that I can't wait to try, but some may have to wait until we have a house of our own... I've shared some of my favourites below:

>>> DIY Concrete Bracelet.

Ahhhhhh concrete!! I could go on forever. But I'll stop now. What do you think of this trend? Getting boring or still a winner?

Dream Interiors: Rustic Christmas Decor

1//2//3//4//5//6//7//8

While I love a bit of colourful tackiness at Christmas time, my favourite festive decorations are usually of the more rustic variety. I love deep natural colour schemes and plenty of greenery - basically if I could swap my East London flat for a cosy log cabin I would!

I am absolutely in love with those little tin houses! They are so sweet and look lovely in a group like that.

What's your favourite Christmas decorating style?

Dream Interiors: Fairy Chic

1//2//3//4//5//6//7//8

I received a very sweet email from a reader the other day which has inspired this edition of Dream Interiors. She explained that she is currently doing some decorating with her 12 year old daughter, who wants her bedroom to be a grown-up mixture of shabby chic and fairies - a place that she can escape to. I just love this idea for a theme, and the fact that she has such specific ideas - reminds me of a twelve year old me!

They already have some fabulous ideas of their own, my favourite being a dolls house renovated into a fairy house - with a moss roof and stucco outside walls - which may eventually be turned into a night light. How cool is that?!

I think there is something about a fairy aesthetic that can appeal to both children and adults, and her request immediately made me think of the 1997 film "Fairy Tale, a True Story". I think that film totally encompasses the more earthy, enchanting and slightly grown-up look of fairy-land, and if I were decorating a room in this style I would definitely use that as my inspiration. It would be moss, vines and willow a plenty - with a bed canopy and twinkle lights thrown in obviously.

Dream Interiors: Gold

Inspiration: Gold Balloons

This weeks Dream Interiors feels so glam! Gold is all over the place in home decor at the moment, but for me it is timeless. There is just something so cool about everyday objects sprayed or brushed with a bit of gold leaf.

How do you feel about gold?

Dream Interiors: Industrial

Inspiration image: source.

The industrial trend in interiors is one of my favourites at the moment. I love you can go all out with it, or just use some details to give pretty rooms a bit of an edge. There is a stall in Shoreditch Antiques Market with some gorgeous iron pendents that I oggle every time I walk past.... One day, one day.

I think if I was to use this style in any room it would be a studio - I think I would find an environment decorated in this style really inspiring to work in.

What do you think of the industrial trend? Is it here to stay?

Dream Interiors: Modern Brights

Inspiration Image: Balloons

In Dream Interiors I create a styling mood board for a room inspired by an image. This styling is all about bright pops of colour (kind of hate that blogger phrase, but it's the best way of saying it!) on white backgrounds. I love this look, especially for kitchen and dining room environments - plus it's renter friendly as you can achieve all of your colour elements with accessories.

What theme would you like to see styled in the next Dream Interiors?
