DIY Wood Slice Coasters

I am a big fan of using wood slices in craft projects! I love their natural rustic look, and mixing that with a bright and modern twist. These wood slice coasters are so easy to make, but definitely leave you with a lovely "chuffed-with-self" feeling of accomplishment.

You will need: four wood slices around 10cm in diameter (you can get these in craft stores or online), masking tape, spray paint or acrylic paint.

1// Mark out stripes on the wood slice with masking tape. I would advise giving them a quick rub over with sand paper too to give your paint a nice base (wish I had done that).

2// Use your common accent colour for your first stripes (I used a gold accent for each coaster). Spray or paint on to each slice and allow them to part dry before removing the masking tape.

3// Once the first colour is completely dry, cover over the stripes with more masking tape, leaving space for your next colour. Repeat with a contrasting colour...

4// My favourite part - remove the last bits of masking tape and admire your pretty coasters! If you like, you could varnish them to keep them water tight.

Hope you love these as much as I do! They would make great gifts too, in a little pile tied up with string :)
